The Cambridge Public House
8 Rue de Poitou, Paris, France
This September, The Cambridge Public House, the renowned Parisian neighbourhood bar and cocktail pub, will welcome the third edition of its Global Series, an annual industry event which celebrates and champions the global bar industry. Centred around The Cambridge’s core pillars of Education, Environment, and Community, the dynamic three-day gathering will bring together nine talented bartenders and visionary venues from around the world, ranging from iconic establishments to smaller independent cocktail bars, all of which share these core values.
The Global Series promises an exciting lineup of guest shifts and insightful seminars designed to inspire, educate, and celebrate the hospitality industry. This year’s guests span across Europe, South America, Asia, Australia and the US. Guests include Valeria Naranjo (Varmaid, Spain), Fabio Cavagna (1930, Italy), Ezra Star (Mostly Harmless, Hong Kong), Gabriela Leon (Lady Bee, Peru), Evan Stroeve (The Waratah, Australia), Ruben Neideck (Velvet, Germany), Tomek Malek (Donkey Shoe, Poland), Kaitlin Wiles (The Ada Coleman Project, UK) and Josh Harris (Trick Dog, USA).
Similar to the format of the previous two editions, The Cambridge will host 3 guest shifts on each night. Each guest bar will feature an exclusive selection of bespoke cocktails, available for an hour and a half on their dedicated evening. These unique creations, developed in collaboration with Hyacinthe Lescoët and The Cambridge team, highlight the exceptional artistry and expertise of each guest bartender and their respective venues, cultures and communities.
In addition to the guest shifts, The Cambridge will once again welcome renowned drinks journalist and author François Monti to host a series of seminars on Monday, 8th September, at the 1K Hotel in Paris. These seminars and roundtable discussions will serve as a platform for guest bars and bartenders to engage in open dialogue and share insights around this year’s themes: Education, Environment, and Community.
Alongside the international guest bartenders, The Cambridge will also invite local speakers from various organisations to further enrich each topic. Christophe Davoine will be representing Education – brand ambassador for Suntory and vice-president of the Association de Barmen de France, he works to advance bartending education in France and organises the Best Bartender Apprentice competition. He also supports bartender training in the French Caribbean through Service à la France. For Community, Jen Riley, owner of Sister Midnight in Paris, will explore how to create inclusive spaces for the LGBTQ+ community. For Environment, Emanuele Balestra will share his innovative practices, such as rooftop and hotel garden beekeeping, and transforming ingredient waste into perfume, all aimed at enhancing sustainability in the hospitality industry and beyond.
Co-Owner of The Cambridge, Hyacinthe Lescoët says “We’re thrilled to bring back our Global Series for its third year. Over the past couple years, it’s been an incredible journey hosting, showcasing, and learning from some of the most talented professionals in our industry. This year’s event promises to be just as inspiring, as we continue to champion our three core pillars: Education, Environment, and Community. With an outstanding lineup of guest speakers and exceptional bars joining us, we can’t wait to see what this year’s series will bring.”
The takeovers will run on 7th, 8th and 9th September. Seminars will be held on Monday 8th September.
