During the exhibition The Day Dawning over the Save River - new paintings by Rens Lipsius, there will be this parallel exhibition of analogical landscape photographs shot by Rens Lipsius from the African bush.
The opening is on
Saturday 10 May, 3-6 pm
Sunday 11 May, 2-5 pm
At 6 pm there will be a discussion between composer Pedro García Velásquez and artist Rens Lipsius, followed by a concert at 8 pm
The exhibition will be open by appointment only
AFRICAN LANDSCAPES
During his stays in Zimbabwe and Kenya, Rens brought his photo equipment alongside his painting materials.
At Bumi Hills, in Zimbabwe, he set up a daylight studio and portrayed the camp members with his medium size format camera, a Hasselblad, beginning a cycle of landscape photography that he pursued during his next journeys from Zimbabwe to Kenya.
Whereas when it comes to the African continent the main focus of photography is on animals, Rens chooses to concentrate specifically on landscapes, although sometimes animals are part of them.
The opening of this exhibition is scheduled on Saturday 10 May 3- 6 pm: at 6 pm Rens and Pedro García Velásquez will start a short discussion followed by a concert at 8 pm and a second concert next day (Sunday 11 May) at 5.30 pm (see newsletter no. 61 ).

Lors de ses séjours au Zimbabwe et au Kenya, Rens a emmené son équipement photographique en même temps que ses outils de peinture. À Bumi Hills, au Zimbabwe, il a installé un studio à la lumière du jour et a fait le portrait des membres du camp avec son appareil photo moyen format, un Hasselblad, entamant ainsi un cycle de photographie de paysages qu'il a poursuivi au cours de ses voyages suivants, du Zimbabwe au Kenya. Alors qu'en ce qui concerne le continent africain, la photographie est principalement axée sur les animaux, Rens choisit de se concentrer spécifiquement sur les paysages, bien que les animaux en fassent parfois partie.
Le vernissage de cette exposition est prévu le samedi 10 mai de 15 heures à 18 heures : à 18 heures, Rens et Pedro García Velásquez entameront une brève discussion suivie d'un concert à 20 heures et d'un deuxième concert le lendemain (dimanche 11 mai) à 17 h 30 (voir la newsletter n° 62).
