NZ’s best young singers to perform first full-length public concert of 2025 at Te Raukura ki Kāpiti this September
The New Zealand Secondary Students’ Choir (NZSSC) will perform their first full-length public concert of 2025 on Saturday 27th September at Te Raukura ki Kāpiti, in the stunning Coastlands Theatre. Concert starts 6pm
The NZSSC has achieved considerable success since its formation in 1986. Bringing their “infectious joy for music-making” to the Kāpiti coast for the first time since 2022, you will see and hear exactly why the NZSSC has won titles such as 'Children's Choir of the World' at Llangollen Eisteddfod and embarked on 16 international tours, including Canada, Singapore, China, USA, South America, Australia and South Africa, during their almost 40 year existence!
Under the direction of Sue Densem, the NZSSC gathers our finest young voices (14–18) throughout Aotearoa and offers a once in a lifetime opportunity – a two-year membership that sees students learning from some of the country’s top choral teachers and composers, as well as performing throughout Aotearoa. The 2-year experience culminates in an exciting international tour in July of the 2nd year, before singers part ways.
As with all their concerts, the repertoire for this Kāpiti concert will be a wonderful mix of cultures, featuring Māori waiata ā-ringa and Pasifika songs with a sprinkling of choral cannon plus some classics like you’ve never heard them before!
Bring the whole family for an evening of choral excellence and entertainment!
Get your Early Bird Special before 29 August 2025 to secure a great concert at a great bargain!
