Our lecture will include the best time for sowing seeds indoors or planting vegetable starts, companion planting of your spring or fall vegetable garden using vegetable starts or direct sowing of seeds.

In addition, our participants will learn how to protect from late frost if your garden is planted too early. How to protect from deer, rabbits and other wildlife, as well as the best pinching, thinning, watering, and fertilization techniques. How to look for common pests and how to control, if needed, with organic or manual methods. We will also discuss harvesting and preserving for a later date.

We will follow with an Open Q & A Forum to address all the questions our participants may have on all their gardening needs and the careful thought that goes into a spring or fall vegetable garden.

Our class participants will learn the importance of amending our clay soils, or the best raised bed soils and amendments on the market, proper planting techniques, non-burning root boosters, future maintenance, and mulching.
