Microbes School holiday workshop

As part of our education wing,In 2024 we received funding from COMET South Sci to deliver a our 3rd Curious Minds project. Instead of focussing on stream ecology we took a holistic approach and examined how the water entering peoples home had an impact on human health as a consequence of the Jan 23 floods. We looked at microbes in the form of mould. This workshop introduces microbes to tamariki in a library context and we will make bread dough as an example of everyday safe controlled microbes . We will share our findings in the form of education boards in the weeks leading up to the workshop which will also feature at other local libraries .
