Pearson-arastradero Preserve
1530 Arastradero Road, Palo Alto, United States
During this community workday, we will be working together to maintain our habitat restoration areas by watering native plants and removing invasive plants! Activities include watering and weeding. They may involve digging with a hori hori (japanese digging knife), lifting, bending, kneeling, carrying buckets of water, using wheel barrows, and walking on uneven terrain carrying supplies.
Pearson-Arastradero Preserve has expansive oak woodlands and grasslands with beautiful trees and wildflowers. It is home to an abundance of wildlife, including deer, bobcats, coyotes, and many species of birds and insects. The work you do will support the health of the preserve's ecosystems!
Visit Grassroots Ecology’s Pearson-Arastradero Preserve webpage to learn more about the ecosystem and accessibility considerations.
Waivers/Registration: All volunteers attending the workday must be registered individually and have approved the online waiver through this Eventbrite page. Youth under 18 must have their legal guardian approve the waiver on their behalf. Volunteers age 12 and under require an accompanying adult.
Meeting Space: We will meet by the building to the right of the parking lot. Water fountains and all gender, single user restrooms will be accessible at the beginning and at the end of the event.
Prepare for Working Outdoors:
We will provide gloves and tools.
Event Cancellations
We are committed to the safety of our staff and volunteers. In the event that we must cancel a workday due to extreme weather conditions or poor air quality, a Grassroots Ecology staff person will reach out via email no later than 5:00 PM the day prior to this event.
