Dredging Town Hall

All LMOA residents are welcome to join us on October 8 at the Ashlawn Clubhouse from 6 - 8 PM to learn about new work options through Harbor Dredge & Dock. In addition to in-house and private contract dredging, LMOA would like to offer a third option, allowing owners to pay and schedule work through Harbor Dredge & Dock.

In 2026, LMOA will maintain a hybrid dredging approach, combining services from Harbor Dredge & Dock with our in-house team and equipment. Harbor Dredge & Dock will operate in late winter and early spring when our in-house dredge operator is unavailable. This will also avoid disrupting boating and swimming activities. We also plan to extend the dredging option for residents. Traditionally, lakefront property owners wait for their turn for the LMOA dredger to work in scheduled areas, or they can apply for a permit and hire their own contractor. Now, LMOA would like to offer a third option, allowing owners to pay and schedule work through Harbor Dredge & Dock. This way, they do not have to wait for LMOA to get to their property or apply for a permit and search for a contractor on their own.

LMOA and Harbor Dredge & Dock will be present to answer questions about pricing, time frames, and the methodology of the operation. In the meantime, we have posted a 2025 LMOA Lake Health & Dredging Updated Overview which residents can access on lmoa.org. This updated overview touches on the history that led to our dredging program, why we had to switch to a hybrid model, and how the LMOA in-house dredging operation will continue in 2026 as we look to improve our overall dredging operation using Harbor Dredge & Dock.
