Taura: Drop-in workshop

Help make a taura/rope from harakeke in our 'Kettle Retold' exhibition. You will plait a section for 1 minute, 5 minutes, 1 hour - your choice! Once completed, the taura, made collectively by all participants, will stay with the Tuitui gallery.

Due to funding arranged by Square Edge:
- Free to participate
- No registration required
- All materials provided
- There is no "take home" aspect to this activity.

Note: This workshop session is happening during the 'Art Trail Manawatū' weekend

From Kettle's account, 12 May 1842:
"... two or three men, standing on a rock at the top, with a strong rope attached to the head of the canoe, by which they hauled it up."
