Hobnail have been great supporters of our for many years .
They are always a great band to see with a fantastic mix of covers and originals.
They have been going for over 30years and have played in Europe and USA in that time and of course have toured NZ many times.
They have a celtic/country feel and can play some footstomping fiddle led music at times and then some great guitar songs.
All the members of the band are masters of the instruments and fun to watch.
Rob Joass is a great front man well supported by the rest of the band.
Hobnail “Three Part” album release tour 2025 “Three Part” (out July 2025) is the 8th album from Wellington’s Hobnail. The new album features Hobnail’s take on songs by some of their favourite Kiwi and Australian bands and songwriters, including Don McGlashan, Barry Saunders, the Waifs, Nick Cave, and more.. These versions highlight the vocal and instrumental interplay between these 3 exceptional musicians. Hobnail are a Wellington institution. They have played shows everywhere from Pittsburgh to Paekakariki, New Plymouth to Norfolk Island, Auckland to Amsterdam, Germany to Gore, the Canadian Praries to the Canterbury Plains. They are 3-time finalists at the New Zealand Music Awards (Best Folk Album and Best Country Song twice). Hobnail celebrated 30 years of active service in 2024, and now in 2025 will be touring across New Zealand with their new album by core members Rob Joass (vocals, guitar, mandola) Jo Moir (vocals, violin) and Hamish Graham (vocals, guitars, percussion).
