MAY 18 | 3 PM | NOTHING SACRED (1937)

Directed by William A. Wellman and written by Ben Hecht, Nothing Sacred is a biting satire on media sensationalism. Carole Lombard plays a small-town woman who fakes a terminal illness to gain fame, with Fredric March as the hapless reporter who falls for her ruse. This screwball classic is both hilarious and sharply critical of celebrity culture, making it as relevant today as it was in 1937.

Guest Speaker | Dr. Olympia Kiriakou

Olympia Kiriakou is the author of Becoming Carole Lombard: Stardom, Comedy and Legacy (2020).
