FREE PRESENTATION: Medicinal, and Other Useful Properties, of Australian Plants

Bec Moon and Nina Wright, will be our keynote speakers at the 10th of June, Australian Plants Society (APS) - Cardinia Region Inc. Meeting.

This month's topic will showcase medicinal, and other useful properties, of a number of Australia native plants.

Bec is the Aboriginal Learning Facilitator at the Cranbourne Botanic Gardens. Bec provides Cultural Awareness Training to visiting school children and teachers, which includes Shared Culture, History and Awareness.
Bec has been a chef for more than 20 years and has an extensive knowledge of incorporating bushfood in her cooking.

Nina Wright (co-founder of Earthwise Culture, Emerald) comes from Eremophila country and will walk about the medicinal properties of the Eremophila alternifolia and Eremophila alternifolia x maculata. Nina will bring some of her medicinal creme for pain management on the evening.

Note that there is no requirement to book ahead for this session. Feel free to just turn up on the evening.

Doors of the main Function Room, for the presentation, will open from 7:10pm, with an expected start time of 7:30pm.

After the presentation member's native plant cuttings will be shown and discussion, and the raffle drawn for plant prizes. Tickets are 3 for $1.

Second hand native fauna and flora books will be available for purchase. Cash only.

To round out the evening supper will be served.
