For Expectant Mothers, Parents, Guardians, and Caregivers of Infants (0–6 Months)
Course Description:
This essential class is designed to provide expectant mothers, new parents, guardians, and caregivers of infants ages 0–6 months with the knowledge and tools to create a safe sleep environment for their baby. Focused on reducing the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and other sleep-related infant deaths, this class follows the latest guidelines from the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Cribs for Kids® National Infant Safe Sleep Campaign.
What You’ll Learn:
• What SIDS is, including causes, myths, and facts
• Key risk factors and how to reduce them
• Safe sleep practices for newborns and young infants
• How to set up a safe sleep space (crib, bassinet, portable play yard)
• Room-sharing vs. bed-sharing – what’s safest and why
• Tummy time benefits and awake-time supervision
• How to talk to family members and babysitters about safe sleep routines
