The morning session will be dedicated to existing Dome Owners. We’ll cover maintenance, Growing Dome care and gardening tips. After the discussion, we’ll hold a special, exclusive prize raffle. We’ll check Dome Owner status at the door for a ticket in the raffle. Must be present to win, and please one ticket per family/household.
Light refreshments will be provided, and the Salt & Light food truck will be available with coffees, smoothies and other drink items for purchase.
After a 30 minute break, we’ll resume in the main tent with a session on food preservation by Terry Schaaf from the Archuleta County Extension Office. We’ll wrap up the day with an introduction to purchasing a Growing Dome for prospective owners that will provide an overview of the whole process from site selection and foundation options to installation and what to expect when you’re expecting your delivery.
Throughout the entire day, we’ll have a handful of vendors and organizations available to answer questions. That list currently includes the Extension Office and Paonia Soil. You can tour all six dome sizes, and we’ll have activity stations set up in the vendor area, including: a fall photo booth, tie dye t-shirts, dried flower arrangements, create your own herb blends, and children’s activities like painting flower pots and a scavenger hunt bingo card.
