Kat Nelson is the founder and artistic director of Alley Kat Adventures - an Austin-based event design boutique with a presence in 30 cities in the US and Mexico. Kat's cohosts range from actors to teachers to pre-med students, etc. Originally from the Carolinas, Kat is naturally hospitable! She is also a freelance event specialist and a SAG actress with principal TV, film and national commercial/print credits. In addition, she is a former teacher (of 14 years) with a MED and a National Board certification. Prior to launching her own business, Kat has led marketing teams for countless brands, such as Facebook, NVIDIA, and Avid. Durango Cowboy Gathering

As one of the country's oldest Cowboy Gathering’s, we have won numerous awards for “Best Cowboy Gathering”, and recently we were recognized as one of “Durango’s Best Events” by the Durango Herald in their annual competition. We take pride in continuing the traditions of the West in the heart and spirit of our past and western roots through music, poetry, and art, as well as educational programs for local schools.
