The Spin welcomes back one of the most celebrated saxophonists in the UK: Dave O’Higgins. Dave has long been a favourite at The Spin, due to his utterly fluid, inventive and captivating playing.
But it’s not only The Spin that holds such an opinion of Dave; a quick look at his CV will evidence work with such A-listers as Joey Calderazzo, Joe Locke, Adam Nussbaum, Joe Lovano, Jimmy Smith, Nancy Wilson, Peggy Lee, Kurt Elling, Wayne Shorter, Stephane Grappelli, Ray Charles and Frank Sinatra!
This special band for this gig also features the massively-in-demand Hammond organ player, Ross Stanley. Aside from Ross’s long-time collaborations with O’Higgins, he has been the driving force behind hundreds of gigs with the Nigel Price Trio and has been members of the Jim Mullen Trio, the Jacqui Dankworth Band, The Steve Howe (Yes) Trio and many, many other great bands!
In addition to the above, the quartet features the super-tasteful drummer, Sophie Alloway and Spin axe-wielder, Pete Oxley. This promises to be an outstanding night of happening, contemporary jazz!
