📣 Sound Ideas: A Community Education Series continues this fall with a powerful evening of learning and reflection 💙
🗓️ October 14th, 6:30–8:30 PM
📍 Owen Sound & North Grey Union Public Library, Auditorium (824 1st Ave W, Owen Sound)
💬 Harm Reduction: A Critical Component of a Comprehensive Approach to Addressing Substance-related Harms
Join us for an evidence-based, stigma-challenging public session led by Public Health Nurses from Grey Bruce Public Health and the Peer Advisory Committee (PAC). Together, we’ll explore the role harm reduction plays in keeping our communities safer, healthier, and more connected.
✨ What to expect:
• Real stories from people with lived experience
• Local opioid stats and harm reduction services
• Practical, life-saving strategies
• A screening of Turning Pages by PAC
• Honest conversation on how substance use affects all of us—and how we can respond with compassion, dignity, and care
This free workshop is open to residents, learners, community advocates, and anyone who wants to better understand the realities of substance use in Grey-Bruce. Whether you’re new to the topic or deeply involved in support work, this evening offers space to grow together 🌱
🔗 No registration required for the public session—but clicking “Going” helps us prepare, thank you!
Let’s build a more informed and supportive community, one conversation at a time.
