PLEASE READ THE DESCRIPTION CAREFULLY.
This will be an INTERMEDIATE HIKE, due to roots, plants, loose sandy slopes, frequent steep steps, and occasional wet spots, however we will be using our beginner pace.
This is not an ideal hike for anyone with ankle or knee concerns! The hike will be about 4 miles and will include occasional stops.
We recommend long pants (there are some very bramble-y parts that can scratch up legs), shoes with good grip, long sleeves, bug spray, hat, and sunscreen. The trail is very shady, but there are several sunny patches.

Where to meet: Find us by the map at the beginning of the trail. We'll be there by 7:50am and will be setting off on the trail promptly at 8:00am.
***IMPORTANT FEE INFO*** Admission to the State Park is $1.99 and can be paid online. Cell reception can be spotty at the park, so we recommend paying ahead of time.

Be prepared for exposed roots, elevation, loose leaves, and sand. Though this hike is 4 miles, the (slight) elevation change and obstacles make it more challenging than a flat hike.
What to bring:
- Water
- Snacks
- Wear good shoes and clothes that can get dirty/muddy. Shoes with ankle support are a good idea for this hike. An extra pair of shoes for the drive home is always recommended.
- Bug Spray
- Sunscreen, hat, sun shirt, and anything else you need to be comfortable on the hike.
