Perpetual Change, One of America's Cover Bands, is celebrating 40 Years of rock-n-roll at Park Place on June 21st from 7pm to 9pm. Come on out and hear songs you haven't heard since before Iceman chopped his teeth together and almost took a bite out of Maverick, way back when Madonna was still a virgin, The Breakfast club didn't know each other yet, Lloyd Dobler hadn't dropped money to buy his boombox, Baby had never sat in a corner...ever, Tony Montana had no friends, big or little, to say hello to, back when Ferris Bueller had a perfect school attendance record, and when chicks could actually hold their smoke, Chet knew nothing about a whales anatomy, the Donger didn't need to eat anything, Kevin McCallister's parents hadn't called the travel company to take their entire family on a vacation, Roman Maroni had never called anyone an icehole or a fargin' bastage, Mr. T didn't pity anyone, JJ Walker didn't know anything about explosives, Willis wasn't making his little brother ask questions, and possibly even before Arthur had a drinking problem.
Yes folks...we are going back to the 1980's and pretending to play an entire set of 80's tunes. We won't quite accomplish that, but we will come close, and throw in a couple of songs from other times...equally as entertaining and pleasant to your ears...like when the new singer for Journey sings with Journey, it is still pretty satisfying.
This is an outdoor show so please bring a lawn chair (ratio is one lawn chair for every two human butt cheeks) for lounging, a smile to let people know you care, and turf shoes for dancing...so you protect the main thing that will get you back to your car when the show is over (your feet). ***NOTE There will be a doctor on hand in case anyone develops Turf Toe from shuffling their feet two fast while dancing on the artificial grass. Moonwalk at your own risk. Should you choose to only wear one glove, please make sure it has sequence.
Unfortunately outside alcohol is not permitted but you can consume tasty alcoholic beverages at Bamboo Penny's outside at Barkley Square (where we are technically playing). Just look for the sign that says "Bamboo Penny's." Tell them Jim sent you. They'll have no idea who that is. You can come early and eat there too. They are always so amazingly nice to us.
We are looking forward to the night for sure. Come hang out with us. You'll might even get a Bohner when Keith Bohn shows up and plays keyboards! Texas will release him for the weekend to class up the joint with his magic fingers and play with the band for quite a few songs. It will be like School Jam 1985 all over again...but for two hours instead of 5 songs. Sweet!!!! See you on June 21st at Parker Place.
