The Ouray Mountain Air Music Series is proud to present it's 14th annual concert series! These FREE events are held on Thursdays in June in our beautiful Fellin Park and are well-received by the entire Ouray community. Each Thursday, families of all ages gear up for sun-filled afternoons, warm evenings, and picnics at Ouray’s favorite outdoor event! We will be featuring 3 different bands this year starting at 6 pm!
The Hip Snacks: 6-7:15 pm
The Nightowls: 7:30-9:30 pm
DJ Straylight: 9:30-10:30 pm
What else can we say? The whole evening is just going to be one heck of a dance party! Fun times ahead, for sure!
For our finale concert we give a very warm welcome back the Nightowls of Austin, Tx! In 2016, the Nightowls performed for our series and we can't wait for their triumphant return!
In their hometown of Austin, TX, The Nightowls are a staple act – a hometown original since 2011, the 10-piece band has gained worldwide acclaim for their electrifying live performances, infectious blend of soul & funk music, and an eclectic roster of handmade variety shows.
Opening our finale concert with a bang are The Hip Snacks from Denver, Co! The Hip Snacks will get us groovin and warmed up for an awesome night of dance music!
The Hip Snacks are a Denver-based powerhouse six-piece of explosive soul music delivering powerhouse vocals, dueling guitars, hammond organ, and a giant soulful sound. Like a surprise hug from an old friend, this band is just what you didn’t know you were missing.
The Hip Snacks are led by the duo of vocalist Kara Durante Suarez and her husband, bassist Ben Suarez, and joined by drummer Dylan French, Keyboardist Adam Schini, and guitarists Ricky Feria and Felipe Cantuaria. Each song originates with the groove, teasing listeners into moving to the beat, as the bass and drums coincide to give listeners a taste of what’s to come. Deft piano and organ work buoys sultry verses that rise with the swell of each song, chasing emphatic guitar solos with powerhouse lead singing, supported by a trio of vocal harmonies to round out each dominant experience that is a Hip Snacks’ performance.
If you still have energy left to dance, or maybe you just can't stop; we will have a special DJ set performed by DJ Straylight to close out our series in the best way possible, dancing until we drop!
For the past few years, DJ Straylight has been building the local dance scene with underground club nights, secret desert parties, and sunset-to-sunrise mountain raves. His obsession with sound and energy focuses to a single point: Play the right song next.
Food, beer, wine, spirits and our famous margarita's will be available for purchase.
This is a free, outdoor, and family friendly event, so no outside alcohol, no marijuana in the park and dogs must be leashed and waste cleaned up.
