The Ouray Mountain Air Music Series is proud to present it's 14th annual concert series! These FREE events are held on Thursdays in June in our beautiful Fellin Park and are well-received by the entire Ouray community. Each Thursday, families of all ages gear up for sun-filled afternoons, warm evenings, and picnics at Ouray’s favorite outdoor event! We will be featuring 3 different bands this year starting at 6 pm!
DJ Dirty South: 6-6:30 pm
Hooks & The Huckleberries: 6:45-8 pm
Dave Jordan & The NIA: 8:15-10:15 pm
We are very proud to welcome Dave Jordan & The NIA to our kickoff concert! Traveling from New Orleans, they will have you dancing and singing all night long!
From the Northern Lights in Alaska to the southern most point in Key West, for nearly 3 decades Dave has traveled the highways of America, sharing his music and the culture of New Orleans and south Louisiana. Along the way he has visited all 50 states and played every kind of gig imaginable- from world renowned festivals like the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and Telluride Blues & Brews Festival; to smoky dive bars and American music institutions the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco and the Fox Theater in Boulder, and back to his legendary hometown venues Tipitina’s and the Maple Leaf in New Orleans. It’s not just a music career, but a lifelong passion of seeking out America and things that connect us.
An award winning songwriter and bandleader, his songs and storytelling cover the gamut of collective emotion- love and loss, joy and grief, pleasure and pain, whimsy and folly. Stylistically, he’s been described as a swampy lovechild of Tom Petty, Dr. John and John Prine. He freely incorporates elements of rock, blues, funk, jam, Americana, country and folk music, all with a rhythm foundation that belies his south Louisiana upbringing, weaving a colorful tapestry of American roots music, via New Orleans.
Hooks & The Huckleberries will take the stage in the 2nd slot and get our hearts pumpin and our boots stompin! Hooks & The Huckleberries are on a hellbent tear to greatness. Their cross-genre concoction of Americana, Country, and fierce roots rock delivers fans a soulful, magnetic, and boot-stomping good time. Fabled front man and rebel son-of-a-preacher, Adam Hooks leads the group from the gritty high deserts of New Mexico. The band’s poetic performances have earned them reverence from a growing and eclectic fanbase through relentless efforts on the road.
Opening our kickoff concert, we welcome DJ Dirty South as he mixes some original tunes as we mingle and dust of our boots for an incredible night of blues, country, and rock and roll!
Food, beer, wine, spirits and our famous margarita's will be available for purchase.
This is a free, outdoor, and family friendly event, so no outside alcohol, no marijuana in the park and dogs must be leashed and waste cleaned up.
