The Conservation Foundation (TCF) will be collecting native prairie seeds during their upcoming monthly workdays at Dayton Bluffs Preserve in Ottawa.
Volunteers from Plainfield and the Plainfield Park District are invited to help collect select species for both the preserve and to bring back for ecological restoration efforts in Plainfield Park District natural areas.
Plainfield volunteers will be guided by TCF staff or a volunteer to learn the best practices of seed collecting and plant identification. If you have never visited Dayton Bluffs, you are encouraged to stay afterwards and explore the 250 acres of woodlands, ravines and created prairies.
