We're SUPER excited to bring The Hilltown Blues Jam to the Knox! It's an opportunity for musicians of all ages to enjoy the camaraderie of listeners and other musicians for some spontaneous music.
Everyone is invited to hear our local Hilltown musicians (and the occasional Valley wanderer).
While the essential simplicity of Electric Blues is the core of what we play, other types and styles including acoustic are welcome.
The house band will consist of Steve Piper on guitar & vocals, John Piper on drums and Mike Buscemi on Bass.
Here are the general rules:
All musicians must sign in, all musicians who sign in will get a chance to play, stage charts will be followed.
If you have a preference of musicians to play with you MUST ck in with the list manager, no invitations from the stage .
Full bands are ok but must sign in as a band and follow time slots, including set up.
There is a house drum kit, bass rig and one guitar amp, bring your own sticks, your own instrument, ( or your preferred guitar amp ).
If you play keys get there before 2 to set up. If you don't bring a keyboard the owner of any keys on stage will have the final word on who can use their rig.
You will get 15min or 3 songs, your set up time is included so be prepared, the less elaborate your set up, the more time you get to play.
When time and the list allows, you may get more than one set to play.
Stage volume can be a problem, keep your ears open and play within the tune and other players NOT over everyone else.
If it's not your turn to solo ... BACK OFF ... It's the Groove that makes good music!
