This spring, the Māoriland Hub turns into a cosy little theatre for seven weeks of kiriata and kōrero. From September to November, a selection of Thursday nights will be your chance to slow down, sink into a beanbag, sit back in a chair, and lose yourself in the magic of cinema. Bring your own pillow and blanket if you wish!
After each screening, we’ll gather over tea for open conversations -- a space to reflect and dive deeper.
To kick start this series of special screenings, we will be showing some of the films made here in Ōtaki, paying homage to the friends of Māoriland who have featured in and supported these films, by putting on a kai in celebration.
These films are:
- Te Hokinga Mai o Ngā Taonga Whitiāhua ki Raukawa
- The Lawnmower Men of Kapu
- The Gravedigger of Kapu
- Ruarangi
- Tuia Ngā Here
- Brolesque
Come as you are, get comfy, and be part of these intimate evenings of cinema and connection.
