Spring Break Art Week is designed to bring the community together through creativity, cultural exploration, and
hands-on learning. Each afternoon will feature a different guided art activity where participants can experiment
with traditional craft techniques, explore artistic expression, and create a project to take home.
The week’s activities include:
Monday – Rock Painting: Participants will paint rocks with colorful designs or positive messages that can be hidden around Oswego to spread kindness throughout the community or kept as a creative keepsake.
Tuesday – Bead Weaving Studio: Participants will learn a simple bead weaving technique and create bracelets or decorative woven designs.
Wednesday – Shrinky Dink Art: Participants will design (or trace) drawings on shrinking plastic that transform in the oven into magnets, keychains, or backpack charms.
Thursday – Yarn Art Canvas: Participants will create a full canvas scene using yarn to build an entire picture,
turning simple materials into textured works of art.
Friday – Tie-Dye Name Towels: Participants will design personalized beach towels by taping out their names
and spraying vibrant tie-dye colors to create one-of-a-kind keepsakes.
All activities are open to children, youth, and adults of all ages, and families are encouraged to attend and create together. Children ages eight and younger must be accompanied by an adult.
Participation is free for children and youth, and adults are welcome to participate for $5 per day. All materials will be provided.
