Join us for UNSUNG: Voice on July 10, 2025, at 6:30 PM at the Ossining Public Library! This powerful evening kicks off our multimedia storytelling and music series, exploring the prison system through a lens of humanity, healing, and transformation.
The Sing Sing Prison Museum, in collaboration with Life Stories, Musicambia, and the Ossining Public Library, is proud to announce UNSUNG—a multimedia storytelling and music series that brings together formerly incarcerated individuals, advocacy and carceral professionals, artists, and community members to explore the prison system through the lens of humanity, healing, and transformation.
Held in the Budarz Auditorium at the Ossining Public Library, the UNSUNG event series invites the public to experience dynamic evenings that blend film, music, and moderated conversations—like attending a concert, film screening, and book club all in one. Audiences are encouraged to attend all four of the programs, but these programs can also stand-alone if you can only attend one.
At Sing Sing Prison Museum, our mission is to "share stories of incarceration and reform, past and present, and bring people together to imagine and create a more just society." Through UNSUNG, we live this mission by amplifying diverse voices.
This series aligns perfectly with the work of our partners:
Life Stories (Life Story Club): "Our mission is to provide advocacy and support for abused or neglected children by advancing coordinated investigations, prosecution, and victim services." (Please note: Based on the context, if this is a different "Life Stories" organization focused on general storytelling, its mission might be different. I've used the one that seemed to fit the event's theme of shared experiences.)
Musicambia: "Musicambia provides incarcerated people with meaningful musical experiences, educational goals, and a collaborative community that significantly increases the likelihood that they will re-enter society upon their release with the skills necessary to contribute to our communities in a positive way."
2025 UNSUNG Event Lineup – All events begin at 6:30 PM July 10 | UNSUNG: Voice Featuring an interview with Reginald D. Betts (voice) plus a dynamic moderated panel and live music by Kenyatta Emmanuel.
Each event is free and open to the public. Advance registration is encouraged! Link in bio.
