Explore the beach of Ossabaw Island -- Georgia's third largest barrier island and first Heritage Preserve. This trip is part of the Ossabaw Island Foundation's Public Use and Education Program.
Enjoy this coastal ecology trip to Bradley Beach on Ossabaw’s Bradley Point, overlooking Ossabaw Sound and the Atlantic Ocean. Travel by pontoon boat one hour across Ossabaw Sound from Delegal Creek Marina.
The day trip features a 45-minute coastal ecology beach walk led by educator Ben Wells, followed by time on your own to stroll the wide sandy beach of Ossabaw, or spread your picnic blanket and relax.
Bring your own picnic lunch!
We'll spend three hours on the beach, plus half hour each way by boat, for a five-hour total day trip.
After you register, an email will be sent to all who registered, with specific information on where to meet the boat to Ossabaw, what to bring, and more.
This trip DOES NOT include a tour of the interior of Ossabaw Island, such as the historic buildings (tabby cabins or Torrey West Estate.)
Note: there are no restrooms on the Ossabaw beach. There is a semi-private toilet (head) on the pontoon boat.
