Ranger Tour of the SR 530 Slide Memorial - August 8

Take a tour of the SR 530 Slide Memorial from a park ranger and hear personal testimony from Ron and Gail Thompson who lost their home and community in the slide.

Free tours will be held August 8 and September 12, 2025 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.

PARKING
Due to the wetlands surrounding the memorial and permitting, the parking lot at the memorial is small. If the memorial parking lot is full, overflow parking is available at the C-Post Road Trailhead (29415 SR 530 NE, Arlington WA). Park in the first gravel lot after you turn onto C-Post Road. Then walk, bike or roll 0.6 miles west along the Whitehorse Trail to the memorial. Along the way, you will get a clear view of the landslide scar and pass an exhibit dedicated to local Tribal responders. Do not park along HWY 530 and do not use the memorial for Whitehorse Trail parking.

DOGS
Due to the sensitive cultural and environmental nature of the site, please keep pets on leash and stay on designated paths.
