Siden 1992, har Grusomhetens Teater utviklet sin egen praksis basert på å realisere Antonin Artaud’s visjon for et metafysisk teater som angriper sansene og vekker en livskraft integrert i naturen, men som det vestlige mennesket har glemt. Kompaniet skaper teater ved å bruke kroppens egen musikalitet – pusten og poesi – som begynnelsen av all handling for å gjenoppdage teaterets magiske og eksplosive virkemiddel.
Denne workshopen har som mål å gi en basis for scenisk tilstedeværelse gjennom skuespillerens kropp og stemme. Arbeidet vil blant annet fokusere på fysiske teknikker fra Jerzy Grotowski samt stemmeøvelser basert på Zygmunt Moliks modell (Grotowski ensemblet), i tillegg til metoder utviklet fra Antonin Artauds teaterteorier.

THE ACTOR AND ALCHEMY
workshop with LARS ØYNO
Since 1992, Grusomhetens Teater (The Theatre of Cruelty) has developed its own practice based on realizing Antonin Artaud's vision for a metaphysical theater that attacks the senses and awakens a life force integrated in nature, but which the Western man has forgotten. The company creates theater by using the body's own musicality - breath and poetry - as the beginning of all action to rediscover the magical and explosive force of theater.
This workshop aims to provide a basis for scenic presence through the actor's body and voice. The work will focus on physical techniques from Jerzy Grotowski as well as voice exercises based on the Zygmunt Molik model (the Grotowski ensemble), in addition to methods developed from Antonin Artaud's theater theories.
The workshop will be suitable for both Norwegian and English speaking participants.
