Yannick Franck’s avant-dub project Mt Gemini merges influences from early ska, reggae, and rocksteady with unorthodox electroacoustic explorations. This singular approach creates a
deconstructed homage to his favorite Jamaican tunes. Recently acclaimed at London's legendary Cafe Oto on the occasion of his UK debut, Mt Gemini's live AV performances offer
a trance inducing blend of raw aural intensity, circonvoluted joy and hacked nostalgia. He has shared the bill with artists such as Drew McDowall, Ghost Dubs, Shit & Shine, and Nik Colk Void.
The Wire Magazine named his debut album one of the
“10 Records of the Year” in its dub category, while Brainwashed hailed it as “transformational wizardry, a deeply lysergic
journey that’s light years from its original form.”
In Summer 2025, Antibody label will release a vinyl edition of his latest EP, Conquering
Ruler.
