About the event

SAIH Blindern - Annual Meeting
Hi and welcome to SAIH Blindern's annual meeting!

Here you can find the link to the complete summons: https://docs.google.com/document/d/140L9-ZfPpKlVP10QP8h9BHacacRv6_IyD7J9MOZvTPY/edit?usp=sharing

SAIH Blindern’s annual meeting will take place on Wednesday 28 of May at 17.15 in Villa Eika. Here we will go through the activities the local chapter has participated in the last year, budgeting, bylaws and electing a new board. All positions are open for grabs.

If you are interested in learning more about SAIH, get to work in a team and want to get some organizational experience in a super interesting and important organization, please feel free to join our annual meeting and run for positions.

The positions SAIH Blindern wants to fill are:

President
The president has, together with the vice president, overarching responsibility to coordinate the local chapter’s activities. The president is the local chapter’s public face. This position must always be filled. The president notifies activists of meetings, delegates work and generally keeps the local chapter functioning through the semester. The president is responsible for ensuring that all the deadlines specified in the internal guidelines are met, for example, accounting and semester reports, and is the local chapter’s liaison to the central office. Being responsible of the deadlines means that they need to have the deadlines in check, it does not mean that the president needs to do the work alone.

Treasurer
The treasurer is the only person that has access to the bank account that the local chapter uses and is responsible for the local chapter’s finances. They make the local chapter’s budget, report finances to SAIH Central and refund activists who have bought something for the local chapter. The treasurer must continuously maintain the records when expenses come in and keep an eye on the budget so that the local chapter uses their funding on the things they have told the central office that they are going to. It’s an important position, but you don’t need experience with budgeting or finance from beforehand. A great position to learn more about how to assist in running an organization. This position must always be filled.

Vice President
The vice president is responsible for assisting the president, and to take the role of the president in the absence of the latter. The vice president is the president’s “right hand” and assists them in leading the local chapter. In the president’s absence, the vice president will take over the president’s responsibilities. The vice president has an overview of what is happening and assists the president when things are hectic. The vice president’s exact responsibilities depend on what the president needs help with and what the bylaws determine. Examples include leading meetings or helping with administrative tasks.

Social Media Responsible
The social media responsible is a board member who is in charge of the local chapter’s social media. Their main responsibilities are creating content for the local chapter’s social media accounts, sharing content from SAIH Central and making sure that social media accounts are always up to date. It is a great way to share what the local chapter is up to and it also shows potential new activists that the local chapter is active. Social media accounts are often the first place where people look for information about local chapters. The social media representative does not have to be the only person posting on social media and it is in fact a good idea for other board members to also have access to the accounts and to delegate tasks.

Event coordinator
The event coordinator is responsible for the practical tasks around an event, such as booking rooms and stands, ordering food, and having an overview of the events. A seminar coordinator makes sure that seminars are well prepared and that everything goes smoothly on the day of the seminar. They are free to delegate tasks to others, but they have the main responsibility for events.

Secretary
The secretary takes minutes from the meetings and helps the president/the board keep track of practical things.
