I dette verkstedet møter du kurvmaker Coline Bouquin og får en introduksjon til ulike former for fletting, hvilke materialer som brukes og de ulike elementene i en kurv.
Du får også muligheten til å se og ta på materialet – og deretter prøve en enkel teknikk knyttet til dette. Bouquin gir deg innsikt i historien til og moderne bruk av kurvfletting.
Coline Bouquin er en fransk kurvmaker som har bosatt seg i Osterøy, like utenfor Bergen. Etter å ha studert filosofi og kunst, lærte hun pilfletting av en kjent fransk kurvmaker i Frankrike.
I denne serien med verksted løfter vi frem ulike tradisjonshåndverk og viser fram kunnskapen som har blitt utviklet og utvekslet gjennom Homo Faber Fellowship. Programmet er utviklet av Michelangelo Foundation og dette er første gang Norge deltar, hvor Norges Husflidslag og Sparebankstiftelsen DNB – med satsingen Håndverksløftet – er norske partnere. I 2025 var deltagerne aktuelle med utstilling i Milano i regi av Homo Faber.
Alle er velkomne. Verkstedet egner seg for nybegynnere og erfarne. Du må ha inngangsbillett, i tillegg til arrangements billett, for å delta. Aldersgrense: 15 år.

Meeting the crafts: Basket weaving
In this workshop you will meet basket maker Coline Bouquin who will introduce you to basket weaving and give you insight into different types of weaving, the types of materials used and the different elements of a basket.
There will also be an opportunity to see and be in direct contact with the material – and then try a simple technique related to this. You will gain insight into the history and modern use of basket weaving.
Coline Bouquin is a French basket maker who has settled in Osterøy, just outside Bergen. After studying philosophy and art, she learned willow weaving from a famous French basket maker in France. She loves to explore the interaction between natural fibers and hands.
In this series of workshops, we highlight various traditional crafts and showcase the knowledge that has been developed and exchanged through the Homo Faber Fellowship. The program has been developed by the Michelangelo Foundation and this is the first time Norway has participated, where the Norwegian Handicrafts Association and the Savings Bank Foundation DNB are Norwegian partners. In 2025, the participants were eligible for an exhibition in Milan under the auspices of Homo Faber.
Everyone is welcome, and the workshop is suitable for beginners and experienced weavers above 15 years of age. To participate you must book a ticket and have an entrance ticket to the museum.
