Oslo Midwifery and Women’s Center hosts a birth preparation course for expectant mothers and partners. We welcome everyone- those planning birth in the hospital or at home.
Our birth preparation course focuses on the normal labor process and designed to increase your knowledge of the body’s innate resources. Our course will lead you to feel involved and safely prepared for birth, as well as help to reduce any anxieties you may have. We will provide you and your partner with the tips and tools for the best possible birth experience. Questions are encouraged in our relaxed yet detailed course that covers the following subjects:
- Mental and physical preparation for birth
- Phases of labor and birth
- Coping with pain
- When to contact the maternity unit
- Reception and admission at the maternity ward
- Partner support
- Birthing aids
- Birthing positions
- Postpartum period
- Care of the newborn infant
