Belonging to both the Yawanawa and Ashaninka peoples, Eriya carries the legacy of two Amazonian lineages through her music, art, and voice. Together with Tuikuru, son of the great leader Hushahu Yawanawa and a rising composer of his people, they bring chants and teachings that have travelled from the rainforest to gatherings across Brazil and Europe.
At House of Consciousness, we open space for encounters that connect us to something greater. This evening, their voices will carry the strength of the forest into our shared circle, reminding us of the deep belonging we all share with the Earth.

🌿 Artist Biographies
Eriya Yawanawa Ashaninka
Belonging to both the Yawanawa and Ashaninka peoples, Eriya carries the legacy and strength of two powerful Amazonian lineages. Daughter of Nedina Yawanawa (political leader) and Moisés Piyanko Ashaninka (spiritual leader), she represents the union of two Indigenous traditions rooted in deep knowledge and spirituality. A singer, musician, and painter, she released her debut album in 2021, with several of her songs becoming widely recognized in the Indigenous and medicine music scene. She has represented Amazonian youth internationally, including at COP26 in Glasgow, and continues the path of her family in leadership, culture, and spirituality. Through her voice and presence, she brings the female strength of the rainforest, standing for Indigenous cultural revitalisation and the living spirit of her peoples.
Tuikuru Yawanawa
Son of the great spiritual leader Hushahu Yawanawa and grandson of one of his people’s most revered sages, Tuikuru is among the brightest young representatives of Yawanawa culture today. A leader of Mutum Village, he has undergone deep studies, initiations, and diets within his tradition, and stands out as both a guardian and innovator of his people’s spirituality. As a musician and composer, Tuikuru is known for his guitar arrangements of Yawanawa chants, including beloved versions of songs such as Sina Vaishu. He travels widely through Brazil and Europe, sharing his people’s songs and teachings, often alongside his wife Eriya. Together, they lead retreats, ceremonies, and workshops, transmitting ancestral wisdom to communities around the world.
Txai Fernando
Txai Fernando is a Brazilian multi-instrumentalist and producer weaving enchanted world music from the heart of the Amazon to Oslo’s creative pulse. Based at Nixi Music Studio, he collaborates with artists and ensembles including the Amazon Ensemble, Astral Flowers, and Curawaka, bringing Indigenous soundscapes into global resonance. His 2018 album Inward established him as a composer of meditative sound journeys, combining kalimba, percussion, and ethereal instrumentation. Since then, he has expanded into collaborations, film scores, and medicine music projects that bridge ancestral traditions with contemporary sonic landscapes. Through his music, Txai creates immersive spaces that invite deep listening, inner journeying, and a reconnection to the living pulse of the Earth. Check out his recent album: Beginning of a New Era:

Baba Asia (Sajad Rahmani)
A multidisciplinary artist, MC, and space-holder, Baba Asia weaves music, movement, and story into gatherings of presence and connection, offering Yanga as a practice of embodied awareness and guiding ceremonies that open the heart — inviting participants into deeper states of being and togetherness.
