Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga is known for its structure, rhythm, and physical intensity. It’s a powerful practice that can feel both transformative and… a little intimidating, especially for beginners. Maybe you’ve stepped into a led class before and felt overwhelmed, or you’ve heard it’s “too much” for those just starting out. We understand, and that’s exactly why this course was created.
This 3-week course is a beginner-friendly introduction to Ashtanga, a soft entry point into a strong tradition. Whether you're completely new to yoga or have some experience, we’ll guide you through the foundations in a way that feels accessible, embodied, and empowering.
Ashtanga is not only physically strengthening, it’s also incredibly grounding, meditative, and mentally clarifying. Its repetitive structure allows you to track your progress, deepen your focus, and build a steady, transformative practice over time.
You’ll learn the core principles of Ashtanga, explore foundational postures from the Half Primary Series, and build a deeper understanding of the practice, from breath and bandhas to sequencing and alignment.

Wednesdays:
3 sessions – May 7, 14, and 21
Time: 16:30–19:00
Fridays:
3 sessions – May 9, 16, and 23
Time: 13:30–16:00

Each session includes:
– 75 minutes of posture theory and guided breakdown
– 15-minute break to pause and reflect
– 45 minutes of accessible practice
– 15 minutes for Q&A and group sharing
We’ll cover:
- Introduction to Ashtanga, principles, philosophy, breath, and bandhas
- Key standing postures, alignment, transitions, and stability
- Seated and finishing postures, grounding, integration, and closing the practice

To truly embody what you’ve learned, we offer a practice-based follow-up course in June, highly recommended to deepen your experience.

These sessions help you internalize the sequence, grow your confidence, and support your transition into led classes or self-practice. You’ll also build strength, presence, and foundational body awareness that will benefit any future yoga journey.
About the Structure:
This course is led by Homa, the founder of Mashti Community. She began her yoga journey during a particularly challenging time in her life. Yoga became more than just a practice, it became a sanctuary, a way to process emotions, heal, and reconnect with inner strength.
In 2017, she opened her own yoga studio in Tehran, building a vibrant community she was deeply proud of. A year later, she traveled to Mysore, India, to deepen her practice and complete her Ashtanga teacher training.
