CMFCAA's Next Steps Conference

The Community Connections Youth Project (CCYP) at the Central Missouri Foster Care & Adoption Association serves youth and young adults who are aging out or have aged out of the Missouri Foster Care System. By working closely with this population, we provide voluntary case management to help them achieve positive outcomes and break the cycle of generational trauma.
We are proud to host the first annual Next Steps Conference, an event designed to support youth and young adults as they develop essential independent living skills. This conference will offer workshops aimed at helping participants build the tools necessary to thrive in adulthood. It will also provide opportunities to connect with professionals and experts who can inspire them to break the generational cycle and improve their futures.
The Next Steps Conference is more than just a learning experience; it’s a chance for these individuals to connect, grow, and discover new personal goals. By bringing together youth and young adults, the conference fosters the development of social support networks and helps participants access community resources that are vital to their transition into adulthood. Ultimately, our goal is to strengthen and enhance their progress while healing from the challenges of their past experiences.
The conference will feature speakers, presenters, and vendors covering a wide range of topics including housing, employment, financial literacy, education, social supports, community resources, and mental and physical health. We are excited to include both individuals with lived experience and professionals who can share their unique perspectives and insights.
