Matt Lazenby is a singer-songwriter based in Montreal. Born in England, Matt migrated to Montreal in the late 2000s and has played in bands such as Halde, The Constant Supervision, and Wind-Up Radio Sessions. He has toured across Québec and Canada with these projects, but more recently, he's been focused on his solo project. Earlier this year, Matt released two singles from his upcoming solo album, Clouds of Dragonflies. The album is a collection of nine beautifully interwoven folk songs, produced by his wife and musical collaborator, Sabrina Halde. It covers styles ranging from pastoral British folk, to Americana, to indie and retro pop-rock, and will be available as of May 1st.
Halde is Sabrina Halde’s solo project. She is the co-founder and singer of Montreal based indie pop band Groenland. After the band's success, she took a step back to reassess and go through a long transformation. She took refuge in a little house in Chertsey, Québec, to heal, create and reconnect, before releasing her first solo album in 2022. Halde's music can best be described as indie-pop, especially when playing with her band. However, in a more intimate context, Halde likes to express her folk and singer-songwriter side. She shares her soulful music in the hope it inspires anyone on the path of healing or self discovery. Halde is an ongoing exploration of self; it is what happens when we start letting go of the ideas we make of ourselves, good or bad.
