Greetings! I am Jacqueline Lockhart, Executive Director of Magic City Smooth Jazz. I am passionate about hosting cultural and performing arts events that foster an appreciation for the arts, and create spaces in our communities where the arts can thrive and transform lives. As a professional artist and arts educator, I've spent a lifetime educating, inspiring, and cultivating young artists. The knowledge and skills that I have gained will help me to chart a pathway that can bridge the universal language and transformative power of the arts. As ED of MCSJ, my goal is to remain diligent about our brand of quality jazz entertainment, and hold spaces for accessibility to residents in culturally underserved communities, and build on the legacy my husband, the late Bernard Lockhart, Founder and former MCSJ Executive Director started - that's building community through jazz. At the end of the day, we all need events that encourage us to live more, laugh more, and dance like no one's watching because we are all too busy living in the moment and being present.
