Sourdough Bread Making Class – What to Expect
Join us for a hands-on sourdough bread class taught by Laura, where you’ll learn the fundamentals of creating and maintaining a healthy sourdough starter and baking your own loaf.
In this class, we will cover:
• The difference between a wet starter and a dry (stiff) starter
• How to feed and maintain a sourdough starter
• The various stages of a starter — from newly fed to active and ready to bake
• How to tell when your starter is strong and ready for use
• Basic troubleshooting tips
Participants will:
• Work with active starter
• Mix and knead their own dough
• Learn proper fermentation and shaping techniques
• Bake a loaf during class (or receive instructions for final baking, depending on timing)
Each student will leave with greater confidence in maintaining a starter at home and continuing their sourdough journey.
