This is a Swiss-style tournament, each round is 55 minutes in length. Each round is played in a “best of 3” matchup. The first player to win 2 games in a round is the match winner. The number of rounds in the tournament will be dependent on the number of attendees. The Top 8 and Top 4 Rounds will be 70 minutes in length. The final round will be untimed.

You may not self report while competing in the Geeks and Game competition.

Before the match begins, the players must randomly decide which player has the choice of playing first or second in the first game. The deciding player then chooses whether they will play first or second in that game. For games after the first in a match, the player who lost the most recent game chooses whether to play first or second in the next game. The decision to play first or second must be made before the player sees their opening hand for that game. If the player fails to do so, they're assumed to be playing first in the next game.

In matches starting at top 8, the player with the higher seed gets the option to play or draw.

This tournament is in a constructed format. Each player must bring one deck to the event which they have built ahead of time. Constructed decks must contain at least 60 cards. There is no maximum deck size, but a player must be able to shuffle their deck in a timely manner without assistance. Cards should be sleeved in matching opaque card sleeves. Constructed decks must not contain cards from more than two ink colors. Constructed decks must not contain more than four of a single card as identified by its full English card name. Character cards with different subtitles are considered different cards for the purpose of this rule.

A copy of your deck list must be submitted at time of registration check-in. You must use the same deck for the duration of the event and it must match the deck list submitted. Failure to complete and submit a deck list prior to the event registration cut off of 11am will result in the player being dropped from the tournament. Deck Checks will be done on the top 8, based on the deck list provided. You may submit your deck list early to b2NnZWVrc2FuZGdhbWVzIHwgZ21haWwgISBjb20=. If you need a copy of the official deck list paper, you can pick it up in store or request it be emailed to you.
