Emerald City with Dead in Spain

Emerald City: Back in the 80s, a newly formed rock band debuted at the legendary Oasis Ballroom. That was Emerald City, who went on to become one of Sacramento’s most iconic original rock bands. In addition to packing clubs in Northern California, the band has supported such acts as Johnny and Edgar Winter, Blue Öyster Cult, Michael Schenker, Ace Frehley, and more. These days, the band occasionally reunites and have not lost a step. Featuring the dynamic guitar duo of Dean LaRosa and Billy Haggard, pounding rhythm section of Shane Maes (drums) and Todd Prout (bass), and the powerful vocals of the ever charismatic Steve “Goody” Goodrich, this band will not disappoint as they launch into their own classic tunes with some gems from UFO and the Cult sprinkled on top.

Dead in Spain: Formed in 1992 by Managers Jeff Welborn and Cliff Davis, as an all-original rock band. With their original singer and guitarist out of the picture they recruited longtime friends Christopher (Duranimal) Duran and Craig (Boomer) Boom who had established themselves with the band (White Raven) a popular cover band from Sacramento. With this new lineup in place they immediately went into the recording studio to record the first Dead In Spain Demo. Later engaging in the Northern California Scene as the up-and-coming band. Constantly writing and learning cover tunes to compete in the Northern California cover market as well as doing all original shows Dead In Spain delivered a mixture of heavy metal originals with hard rock and heavy metal covers and soon became one of Sacramento's favorite bands, performing at such iconic venues as The Boardwalk, The Shire Road Pub, The Eldorado Saloon and Paradise Beach. And now here we are 30 something year’s later with their release “Millenium” available on Spotify “Dead In Spain” Christopher Duran, Craig Boom, Randal Mercado, James Smith and David Bass find themselves in familiar waters back onstage and bringing that “Commercial Metal Sound” to a new generation of fans
