Please join us in celebrating the life of Christie (Schwabenbauer) Anderson.
On Saturday July 5th, 2025 Christie passed away at the age of 50 after an 18 year long battle of brain cancer. She was first diagnosed in 2007, and went through aggressive chemotherapy and radiation, shrinking the tumor nearly in half. She was considered in remission for several years, with routine checks. In 2023, Christie began experiencing seizures and learned the cancer was growing. For the last two years, she has been fighting the cancer with numerous medications, more chemotherapy, and radiation. Due to the cancer's location, Christie experienced paralysis on the left side of her body, making it difficult to walk, despite this she elected to continue living on her own. On Saturday, June 28th, Christie suffered a fall, one of many over the past several months. She was taken to Gundersen where significant bleeding on the brain was discovered. Given the cancers progression and treatment history, Christie received comfort care, and passed peacefully on Saturday July 5th.
