Tour a Recycling Facility with First Star Recycling

Join Conservation Nebraska and First Star Recycling for a look behind the scenes of a recycling facility! This tour is open to anyone interested in learning about what happens after the recycling truck takes our recyclables away.

The tour will cover:
- How to recycle to ensure ultimate recovery and benefits for the environment
- How recyclables are prepared for markets
- What recyclable materials become after processing
- The many benefits of recycling for people and the environment!

Please make sure to wear closed-toe shoes for this walking tour. All children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Speaker Bio: Dale Gubbels founded Firstar Fiber in 1997 and served as CEO and president until stepping down from those roles in 2022. He continues as the company’s board chairperson and part-time business development director. In 2024 he formed a separate company, The Last Pound, LLC, to develop circular economic solutions for some of the least valued plastics that otherwise are landfilled or litter the environment.
