Preserving Prospect Hill: Honoring Veterans with Markers and Flags

Join us for a special event as part of our "Preserving Prospect Hill: Get Your Hands on Some History" program (www.prospecthillomaha.org/preservingprospecthill). We'll honor and recognize veterans laid to rest at Prospect Hill Cemetery through two meaningful preservation activities:

Veteran Marker Installation:
Help us set military-issued grave markers for eight veterans whose graves have previously been unmarked. This meaningful task ensures their service and sacrifices are respectfully remembered and clearly marked for future generations.

Important: Participants assisting with grave marker installation must wear steel-toed footwear. This is the only safety requirement.

Flag Stake Placement:
Assist us in placing flag stakes on the graves of veterans in preparation for Memorial Day commemorations. This important tradition allows us to proudly honor those who served our country.

All tools and guidance will be provided—no prior experience necessary. This event is an excellent opportunity for community members, history enthusiasts, and families to engage directly with local history and preservation.

Please wear comfortable clothes and sturdy footwear suitable for outdoor work.
