This is an intermediate, soft glass course. Must have basic bead experience. tThis is a painting on a glass cabochon, fired in a kiln flat. The pieces we will be making in class are 3D, double-sided beads flame set at the torch! ❤️
Two-day session. Oct 18th & 19th. 9 am to 5 pm each day with lunch provided both days.
All materials supplied. You can bring your own torch as long as you have quick connects, favorite marvers/tools and didyium glasses.
What you will learn:
Painting with Glassline paints: Laura will teach some basic painting and design fundamentals in this class. Her main goal is to focus on how to best apply, layer and control the outcome of glassline paints on a bead surface to create a wearable mini-masterpiece. In the final step, students will learn how to fireset their painted creations without distorting the images or the bead. Each student will complete several painted beads and leave with the knowledge and skills to continue experimenting with Glassline paints in their own studios.
Creating a Canvas Bead: Making/Choosing and preparing a base bead for painting. Laura will go over how to make the base beads (our canvas) and how to prep the surface of glass for better painting results.
The day after class ends, your painted beads will be processed (taken off mandrels), cleaned and ready for pickup.
