Join Urban Abbey, Strongly Worded Letters, and Strong Towns Omaha for a three week book study over the book 'Paved Paradise: How Parking Explains the World' by Henry Grabar. This book study will focus on conversations around American car culture, city budgets, and how even the smallest changes can make a difference in your community.
Books are available for sale at Urban Abbey. This book is also available through the Omaha Public Library in both audiobook and physical formats, as well as available in audiobook form from the Council Bluffs Public Library and in physical format at the Bellevue Public Library and the UNO Criss Library.
We will meet on Sunday afternoons at 1 pm on July 20th, 27th, and August 3rd at Urban Abbey, 1026 Jackson St. The coffee bar will be open for snack and beverage purchases.
About the venue:
Urban Abbey is accessible by the 13 bus line. There is a Heartland Bike Share station located directly across the street from the venue, and Lime scooters are readily available in the area. Street parking is free on Sunday's. There is a city-owned parking garage located across the street and a privately owned parking lot next door. There are a limited number of wheelchair accessible spots in the area.
There are no stairs required to enter the building. There are two public bathrooms, labelled men's and women's, but we encourage folks to use whichever bathroom they feel most comfortable using.
