Have you entered this year's FEARmanagh Adventure Race? 💪🚣♀️🚴
This training session is ideal for those planning to compete in this year's race who have no or very little kayaking experience or who want to improve their kayaking speed and efficiency.
The course will cover all the skills and safety you need to confidently complete the kayak leg of the race including:
- Kit selection, sizing and set up
- Launching and landing efficiently
- Paddling a straight course and steering
- Efficient forward paddling, power transfer and conserving energy
- Kayak safety and rescue
Coached by a highly qualified kayak coach holding the NGB Sprint CPD Qualification, an experienced competitor with an in-depth knowledge of the kayak leg of the FEARmanagh Race having organised safety cover and marshalling for this event for many years.
No previous experience is needed. Non-swimmers are also welcome. All participants will be fitted with a correctly sized buoyancy aid and kept under close supervision of the coaches.

Equipment
We will provide all paddlesport equipment you need; sit-on-top kayaks, paddles and buoyancy aids.
The only thing we can’t supply is your personal paddling wear. Wear a wetsuit if you have one or tracksuit/shorts and top/t-shirt, shoes to get wet and a waterproof coat.
You must bring a full set of dry clothes, shoes and a towel.
Facilities
We will meet at the Round O, in Enniskillen. There is parking and toilet facilities available. Arrive ready to go paddling or change at your car as many paddlers do. A changing towel and a mat to stand on make this a much easier and more discrete process, or a large bin liner to sit on on the way home in your paddling kit works well too.
