Bash For Baigis

Less than a year ago, Brian was diagnosed with high-grade small cell neuroendocrine carcinoma (SCNEC); a rare, aggressive type of cancer that usually originates in the lungs. Although, in Brian’s case this was found in the tonsil and neck. Brian immediately underwent 3 months of chemotherapy (cisplatin/ etoposide) and radiation treatment to target the cancer cells in his tonsil/ neck. Followed by monthly immunotherapy using Imfinzi. A PET scan in May showed the cancer cells in the tonsil/ neck were diminished. However the most recent PET scan Aug 11th showed potentially cancerous growth in the liver. A biopsy was performed Aug 27th and confirmed to be SCNEC. Brian was then given a new immunotherapy drug called tarlatamab (9/11/2025).

On Sept. 17th a CT scan was performed showing the disease has spread to the entirety of the liver along with potential cancer growth to pancreatic head. The treatment plan deviated to discontinue tarlatamab and switch back to the original chemotherapy. From there, mitigating this disease as needed to bring back Brian’s energy and vigor that we know and love so much. This benefit “Bash For Baigis” will help Brian and his family offset out of pocket medical, travel and lodging expenses they’ll be enduring with frequent trips to Philly and newly scheduled appointment with MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX for an additional second opinion.
