Carbine Operator

Note; this course is a fundraiser for the Flint Hills Foster Teens Camps, 50% of all procedes go towards this important charity effort.

This course is geared towards gaining knowledge and experience with the carbine as a general purpose defensive tool and for use as a ranch rifle/predator control/hunting rifle. This course will cover use in the 0-100yard range

Topics covered;

The zeroing process and developing a solid zero

Ammunition selection

Ballistics, both external and terminal

Positional shooting; standing/kneeling/prone/shooting on the move

Use of barricades and cover for stability

Reloads and malfunction clearing

Close quarter shooting

Students will need a safe, reliable semi auto carbine, iron sights or optics are welcome (high power/long range type scopes would be inappropiate for this class), this course is developed around the AR15 type carbine, but other types of semi auto carbines are welcome, including pistol caliber carbines.

Your carbine must have a sling

At least three magazines

400 rounds of quality ammunition

Something to lay on for comfort while shooting in prone, or elbow/knee pads, are encouraged

Standard range gear; eye and ear protection (electronic hearing protection is encouraged), cap with bill

Water, snacks
