Our annual Blues Day Festival returns to Whittles for the 2nd year running.
If you support live music and love blues rock, then this is the perfect festival for you, 6 magnificent bands (Performing on the outdoor stage, weather permitting) indoor and outdoor bars so no queing for drinks, and food available from the band wagon so no need to leave and come back if hungry.
If you came last year, you will know what an immense line up we had, and this year is no different.
This years bands are:
Headliner - The Milkmen - One of the most popular and acclaimed blues rock bands in the UK, nominated for eight UK Blues Awards and British Blues Challenge finalists, and with a Number 1 blues single and album to their name, they have earned a reputation as the one of the most dynamic and enjoyable live bands on the circuit. Their five albums of original material have seen them top both the Amazon and iTunes charts and won them ‘Best Album’ nominations, and their live shows are renowned for their electric energy and joyous sense of fun.
The Whisky Flowers - With a powerful mix of Blues Rock, Roots Rock and Americana. Founded by seasoned musicians Aiden Pryor (of the Aiden Pryor Band) and Steph Ashcroft, this new collaboration thrives on strong vocal harmonies, blistering guitar riffs, and a rhythm section that’s impossible to resist. With Elliot Clark on bass and Ben Hart on drums, their infectious energy and musical prowess keep audiences both on their feet and emotionally connected from start to finish. Having performed across the UK, Ireland and Europe, The Whisky Flowers are quickly building a loyal fan base. Their debut single dropped on January 1st 2025 alongside their music video, setting the stage for their much-anticipated EP “Broken Bones” With an irresistible sound that defies strict genre labels—think Blues Rock Americana meets Alternative Pop with a Folksy twist—The Whisky Flowers are a must-watch for any live music lover.
John Angus Band - One of the UK's top original rock blues acts. With three albumssince 2019 and many festival gigs under their belt they are delighted to be able to play their music to a growing fan base across the UK and Ireland. They return with their original Drummer, Pete Hopkins driving the band along with his brother Tim on bass, Guitar maestro, Bram Duckworth on lead and the stunning, Stewart Spiers on harmonica with "the voice" John Angus fronting the band.
Rare Breed - Original Blues, Soul & Rock n Roll band from Mossley, Greater Manchester. They have gigged extensively around the North of England including at Night & Day (Manchester), Round the Corner (Liverpool) and the Blues Bar (Harrogate) as well as shows in Stoke, Sheffield and Stockport. In 2025 they won the Firevolt Festival Battle of the Bands and their debut single ‘English Rose’ was released in February this year.
Heads Will Roll - Brand new Rock band formed as the result of singer Matt Wolff and guitarist Dave Airey re-connecting and writing together for the first time since their band SWEET ADDICTION released three singles for indie label Survival Records and recorded an album for RCA/BMG in the early 90s.The sessions went so well that after just a few months - and with former SWEET ADDICTION drummer Gav Hardman back behind the kit - Heads Will Roll had recorded Mods and Rockers, an ear-flappin', toe-tappin', ass-kickin', Rock album packed with an eclectic mix of great songs. Now, with the addition of old friends Ronnie Jay on Rhythm guitar and Goda on bass, they are getting ready to take the music live.
Pat Fulgoni Blues Experience - Acclaimed singer Pat Fulgoni fronts this top notch 5 piece blues band already with European Blues festival dates under their belts and equally at home in UK clubs, venues and festivals. Features talented musicians from the Leeds scene including Jacob Beckwith on guitar, Rory Wells on Bass, Sam Bolt on keys and Zebedee Sylvester on drums.
