St. Luke’s on Broadway – Hadestown​

Each week a different Broadway musical is highlighted with guest performers who sing songs from that show, while Senior Pastor, Dr. Bob Long, ties the sermon to the musical. The Downtown Campus (222 NW 15th Street) services are at 8:15, 9:30 and 10:50 a.m. and Edmond Campus (900 N. Sooner Road) services are at 9 and 11 a.m. each Sunday. If you are not able to attend in person you can watch live online or the television broadcast on Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m. on KOCO Channel 5 (week delayed).

Hadestown masterfully weaves together ancient Greek myths into a captivating and emotionally rich narrative. The musical takes audiences on a profound journey, exploring themes of love, sacrifice, and the complexities of choice. At its heart, Hadestown examines the delicate power dynamics between individuals and the society that shapes them. It captures the timeless tension between love and greed, revealing how these opposing forces have the potential to both connect and divide us. By reimagining the myths of Orpheus and Eurydice, alongside the tale of Hades and Persephone.
